Group History

Set up as part of the Millenium Celebrations the group was launched, The Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II was the international celebration held in 2002 marking the 50th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne.

To mark this occasion the group arranged for a celebration at the White House.
The local children at school received commemerative medals.

In June 2015  the Initiative Group applied for and was successful in becoming part of the Coalfields Community Futures Programme this involved other Community Groups and together we formed a Steering Group. This has now resulted in the completion of a community wide consultation and development of a village plan to be used as a guide to where our community wants to develop over the years. As part of this we worked to create a Forth and District Development Trust to support the outcomes of the plan. Within Forth there are several good local groups working for the benefit of the community. They are all represented on the Development Trust Steering Group.
Through a lot of hard work by the community, Forth have been lucky enough to win several awards over the years
